Australian-Engineered Lifting at Project ScalE

Eilbeck Cranes is delivering an integrated package of specialised bridge cranes to support tunnelling construction activities across multiple Suburban Rail Loop worksites.

SRL East requires lifting systems for TBM assembly and disassembly, shaft excavation, structural works, tunnel segment supply and general construction lifts. The package therefore needed more than one standard crane: it required purpose-built systems matched to different loads, spans and work fronts.

Together, the package supports shaft excavation, structural works, TBM assembly and disassembly, tunnel segment supply and general lifting activities across the project.

The SRL package demonstrates the importance of Australian engineering and manufacturing capability in delivering nationally significant infrastructure. Eilbeck’s scope brings together project-specific design, structural manufacture, electrical systems, transport planning, installation and commissioning.

The Port Kembla slab yard is a critical link in the integrated steelmaking process. The replacement cranes needed precise handling, high availability and dependable performance in a demanding industrial environment. A8/M8 classification supports intensive process-crane service and repeated slab movements.

Project Outcome

As tunnelling progresses beneath Melbourne, Eilbeck cranes will support critical lifts above ground. Big infrastructure demands big lifting solutions, and Eilbeck delivers.
