Eilbeck Supplies Heavy Duty Cranes for Steelforce's New Victoria Facility
Eilbeck Cranes have yet again shown why we are the number 1 crane manufacturer in Australia by successfully supplying, installing and commissioning 5 new Eilbeck / ABUS dual hoist single girder cranes for the new Steel Force flagship facility in Melbourne’s western suburb of Derrimut. The site development, construction and project management was undertaken by Pelligra Holdings.
All 5 cranes are classed C5/M7/M7 and have an increased hoisting speed of over 8m/min under full load.
Once the contract was awarded after a long thorough tender process, Eilbeck got straight to work with the design engineers of Pelligra to deliver another on time and successful project for our client. Pelligra Holdings are one of Victoria’s largest builders / developers and are now a valued client with ongoing works between Eilbeck Cranes and Pelligra on other projects.
The higher class was a requirement due to the intended heavy use of these cranes, as Steel Force are one of the main steel distributors along Australia’s East Coast.
All 5 cranes are operated by an ABUS Remote radio control system complete with LCD Load display in all transmitters, allowing the operators to always know the weight of the load being moved.
There were many obstacles faced due to Melbourne’s very wet winter and spring seasons, which would usually delay the final handover, however, Eilbeck Cranes simply did what had to be done to meet the deadlines set from the beginning by Steel Force & Pelligra.
